Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers are the world's smallest retriever, with males averaging 19" and females 18". The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is a rare breed that originated in the Little River district of Nova Scotia, a province on Canada's Atlantic coast. Originally known as Little River Duck Dogs, they were renamed the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I have known these cute little rascals since most of them were young puppies, and it was an absolute blast to photograph them all together! Owned by the Simons family, these dogs are excellent in the agility sport ring and show ring, showcasing the very best of the breed. Ripper was awarded the prestigious honor of first place in the national agility championship this year. We shot at a local park that featured a very rocky and desert landscape, in the early morning sun.
